It seems like a far fetched idea that a brush can help treat cellulite but read on.

What is Cellulite Dry Brushing

Sure, your butt might look like cottage cheese but a cellulite brush does have a use in improving the look of your thighs and butt. A cellulite brush appears in the form of a long handled brush with natural fibers. They can be found in stores specializing in home remedies, drug stores or online. Get one with soft bristles in order to dry brush your cellulite away.

The term cellulite dry brushing is just exactly that. The theory is to improve blood circulation and to redirect the deposits of fat. Obviously, this isn’t a lose weight quick solution but it’s worth a shot. You can even do it in front of the TV while you use your cellulite brush and work your way around your body. In fact, think of it as a form of exercise to body brush yourself in order to get rid of the cellulite.

Start with your feet and gently work your way up your legs in long circular motions. Don’t rub too hard or you’ll become raw. Pay special attention to your thighs as this is the big problem area. Work each leg for approximately 5 minutes.

After you perform your dry brush ritual, you should clean your brush with a mild soap and water. Then, it’s off to the shower to wash off the dead skin during the exfoliation process.

As crazy as the idea seems to use a cellulite brush, it isn’t all that far fetched from other people recommending massage therapy to get rid of cellulite. The reasoning is that by applying deep tissue pressure, you can distribute the deposits of cellulite. After a cellulite massage therapy session you really do look better due to the skin expanding and puffing out to reduce the dimpling. Along with massage therapy, more and more spas are also offering dry brushing into their body treatment packages.

Of course, as explained, using a body brush is just an attempt to redirect deposits of fat. There will never be a substitution for exercise and diet. This is a fact of life but a body brush can help you get there by improving your skin tone and it doesn’t help to exfoliate your skin from the toxins and pollutants attack it everyday.
